Compilation of the IBPS PO 2017 Exam Centers and Exam Day Instructions
IBPS PO 2017 is a national-level recruitment exam held for recruiting POs in various Public sector banks and RRB’s across the country.
- The exam is conducted by IBPS in online mode each year to recruit Officers and Office Assistants in banks across India.
- Generally, the prelims exam is conducted in the month of October and the mains exam in the month of November- December each year. IBPS 2017 is also scheduled to take place in the month of October 2017.
- Candidates willing to take this exam would have to make an application in online mode by visiting the official website of IBPS.
- The online registrations for IBPS PO 2017 Exam begin from August 16, 2017, on the official website.
- The last date for making an application for IBPS PO 2017 exam is September 05, 2017.
- Only applications made in online mode are accepted and no offline method of application is provided by the exam conducting authority.
- The exam would be held in three stages that are Prelims, Mains, and Interview.
- Each stage would be an eliminating stage with only qualifying candidates moving forward and remaining being eliminated.
- The design and nature of exam are of MCQ type aptitude exam based on sectional cut-off.
- IBPS PO 2017 exam would test the candidates by asking questions from areas like quantitative aptitude, reasoning, and logical interpretations.
- There would be a negative marking to the tune of 1/4th of the total marks allotted to the question.
- A final list of candidates would be prepared after the interview rounds are over and the results have been formulated.
- Recruitment for that particular year would be done based on the merit list only.

Documents required on exam day
Candidates appearing for IBPS PO 2017 exam should note that they would be required to carry certain documents along with them to the exam venue.
The most important document that they would require is the Admit card (downloaded from the official website). The second important document that candidates are required to carry along with them is a valid photo ID proof.
Failing to carry these documents candidates would not be allowed to enter the exam hall and take the exam. Following documents are accepted as valid photo ID
- Driving License
- Aadhaar card
- Voter ID card
- School/College photo Id
- PAN Card
- Passport
- Admit card issued by the respective board for the board exam.
Apart from the above-mentioned documents candidates are advised to take two passport size photographs similar to the one uploaded at the time of making the application along with them.
Exam Day Guidelines
There are certain important guidelines issued by IBPS which the candidates are required to adhere to.
These important instructions/guidelines are provided on a separate page attached to the admit card or on the backside of the admit card (downloaded from the website).
For your reference, we have mentioned those guidelines here as well.
- Candidates are expected to appear for their respective exams as per the date, time, and venue mentioned in the admit cards.
- No, change of center request would be accepted irrespective of the reason provided.
- Candidates must bring two passport size colored photographs along with admitting card and original photo ID proof.
- No electronic device such as a mobile, calculator, or other wireless equipment is allowed in the exam premises.
- Candidates should bring their own stationery like pen/pencil, eraser etc. for the exam.
- Candidates are advised to reach the exam venue 35 to 40 minutes before the scheduled time for commencement of the exam.
- Candidates would not be allowed to leave the exam hall before the completion of the exam time.
- Parents and guardians are not allowed to enter the exam hall/venue.
IBPS PO Admit Card
Admit cards would be made available in online mode on the official website of the IBPS two weeks before the exam. Candidates would be required to download the admit cards within a stipulated time window.
IBPS PO Admit Card is a significant document that certifies your eligibility and candidature for the exam. It would be like a pass that would provide you entry into the exam hall.
If the downloaded admit card (downloaded from the official website) carries any discrepancy in it then the candidate should immediately contact the IBPS PO office through the various communication channels provided on the website (email, toll-free number, nearest candidate center, candidate helpline etc.).
