Share an Amazon Prime and Netflix Account Without Revealing Your Password
Here are the steps to share streaming service accounts with others (friends) without giving them your password.
Step 1: Install the extension in Google Chrome (Netflix, Amazon Prime, HBO for example)
Sharing your Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, or HBO account is a true act of trust that not everyone might feel comfortable doing.
To make this more secure, we will show you how to share access to your account without being compelled to share your password with anyone. Most of us probably don’t feel comfortable giving out our full login information no matter the recipient.
By using Chrome’s ShareAccount extension, you can give access to anyone who asks for it, but you won’t have to reveal your username or password. Luckily, there is much safer way to share this kind of information.
To achieve this, both you and the intended recipient of your account access must have the ShareAccount extension installed in Chrome. Click on the Add to Chrome button to accept and initiate the installation of the extension in the browser.
Once the extension is installed, you can start the process to share your Netflix account or any other service.
Step 2: Exchange the keys
- Both of you then must go to the site you want to share access to. For example, if you are going to share your Amazon Prime Video account, access that website.
- Have your recipient send you their public key, which they will obtain by clicking on the extension icon and clicking Receive Account from the drop-down box.
- Next, copy the code that appears in the section Your Code and you will receive it by mail, text, or another method. This is the public key that you’ll need to insert into your browser to be combined with your private key.
- Once you receive the public key from your friend or relative, click on the extension icon again and access the ShareAccount option. Paste the code your friend sent you into the Recipient Code box.
Step 3: Set a usage limit and share your account
Now that you have entered the password, it is time to combine the public key with your private key to create and share access to your account.
But, before doing this, make sure to set a time limit in the Timeout hours field. You can write the number of hours that the account access will remain active with this key. Just below, a countdown will appear to indicate how much activity you have left before the key expires.
Lastly, press the Share button to generate the key that will allow you to share the service with another person. Copy the content of the Share result section or Share This Link and send it to your accountrecipient.
When your friend receives it, just paste the link that you sent in the Share result box and the Receive button will activate. When you click on this button, the window will refresh and indicate that the service session has initiated. Once the time of use is exhausted, the key can not be used again and you will need a new one in the future.
This way, only you can control who uses your Netflix account, Amazon Prime Video, or another service, and for how long!
Awesome, isn’t it? This is how to share Netflix without a password reveal to your friends, family, or significant other.
